The Use of 'Was' vs 'Were'
by Rachit
I read a sentence today, 'This book is a product of its time and does not reflect the same values as it would if it were written today.'
Shouldn't this sentence be, 'This book is a product of its time and does not reflect the same values as it would have if it was written today.'
Please explain where I am going wrong and why.
