Making lesson plans for pronunciation.

I've just reviewed thoroughly all advices about pronunciation tips but I still can't build a practical way to improve my pronunciation skill theoretically.

I want this training to be a part of my daily lessons.

I can say like "walking on the right way regularly".

For example; Memorizing Phonetics and knowing the all rules of word / sentence stress & intonation etc.......

From where should I begin?

hello, i'm from Asia and I have problems with my english learning. I started studying 5 years ago but I've only improved a little. I want my English to be well. Writing, listening, speaking and especially my pronunciation is bad and I want to improve fast as soon as I can. I hope you can get me more advice and reply also. Thank you so much.

Improving English Pronunciation
by: Robby Kukurs

Hi Selma,

I'm not really an expert on pronunciation since my main focus is fluency - ability to explain yourself clearly and effortlessly. For the most part I'm working with English speakers who've gone past the stage of learning basics and proper pronunciation isn't one of their worries.

All I can say is that you should focus less on learning rules ABOUT pronunciation and focus more on imitating other English speakers and do as good as you can without striving for perfection.

Don't learn rules so much as learn every new word the way it's pronounced without endless questioning - "But why this word is pronounced this way, but a similar one - in a completely different way?"

It's not going to avail you of anything but slow down your progress, so I'd say just learn every new word and expression as it comes and build your active vocabulary by plenty of speaking practice.

Read aloud - that should help a lot because you'll be training your mouth, lips and tongue to pronounce English sounds and of course - engage into as much speaking with others as possible!

Hope this helps,

Robby
