I'm Egyptian and speaking in English is hard for me. What can I do to make it easier???
That is a good question. I think many people, when they learn a language, learn how to read, write and how to explain the grammar very well...but when it comes to speaking people are not so confidant. To answer your question, there are many ways to gain confidence and make speaking in English easier, here are 4 to get you started;
1) Speak more! The number one reason people can not speak well is that they don't speak often. It is like a muscle. If you do not exercise that muscle it will be weak. Try to speak in English on a regular basis. One way people try to improve their speaking is by
singing songs that they like.
2) Sign up for a free course from Livemocha. There you can record yourself speaking and have other native English speakers correct your pronunciation and general speaking.
3) Read aloud. Read a novel, newspaper, article, or
free materials online...anything that you can read and enjoy, but do it aloud, not in your head. **Be careful with this. Some people believe that you shouldn't read aloud alone because you will make mistakes and not be corrected. My view is that the more you speak the better you get. Even if you make a couple mistakes along the way. (This is best for intermediate to advanced learners).
4) Change your internal dialog into English. When you are thinking or planning things in your mind, why not do them in English? Try to talk to yourself in your head. This sounds silly but you can practice speaking, in you mind.
