Many students ask me where they can get some free English books and until recently I didn't really know.
I thought that the Internet would be the best place to start but I didn't know of any specific websites that allowed you to download or print books.
That all changed today while I was reading some of my favorite blogs. At first I found a website that did not deliver what it promised Free book spot.com.
I tried to download one book and the file would not open and when I went to download a different one it told me that my free trial was finished (only one download) and that I had to get a premium membership and PAY.
That doesn't sound like FREE to me!
If you have experienced this as well, I am going to tell you about a site that really does deliver what it says.
Project Gutenberg has a huge library of FREE books (and other languages) that you can read on line or download onto your computer. All of the stories or books are older (classics) and that is why they can be on line for free.
You can read classic stories such as;
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens

So what have I learnt?
Not all website deliver what they say they do...but Gutenberg definitely delivers.
