compound sentence - how to determine predicate pronoun form
by Melinda
(California)
In following sentence: "I told him that you would confirm a time for ___ and ___ to meet tomorrow." (him and me or he and I)
Do you take your cue from:
...you would confirm a time for ___ (direct object, him and me)
or
...____ to meet tomorrow (nominative, he and I)
I'm guessing since "us" sounds better, it probably takes direct object form, but I would appreciate knowing the rule. Thank you!
